Commissioned by the Municipality of Tórshavn, my street art project serves as a portal to a parallel universe, where aliens reside—beings who are now stepping through this portal and entering our world.
The aliens are not here for exploration or invasion; they are here to protest. They have witnessed the horrors of war, genocide, and oppression on Earth, particularly the ongoing apartheid state, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Palestine, the exploitation and genocide fueled by colonial legacies in Congo, and the ethnic cleansing and systematic violence driven by racial and political oppression in Sudan.
The situation on our planet has become so dire that even beings from other universes sense the necessity to speak out against the injustices we face.
If even the aliens are protesting, then it's high time we step up. The silence and inaction of those who remain silent are unacceptable.
In creating this piece, I carefully considered the city’s landscape and urban environment. The colors and textures of the surrounding area flow seamlessly into the artwork, integrating it into the cityscape and making it a natural, yet curious extension of the streets of Tórshavn.
